Artist Statement
My artwork is a visual diary of thoughts, fears and uneasy emotions. I have always been drawn to female figures — recurring characters who drift between pieces like echoes. These still, shadowy images create quiet spaces for the viewer to linger and question.
Influenced by horror and the supernatural, I use unsettling imagery to reflect inner chaos. There’s beauty in darkness, and I aim to capture both.
I have spent years refining my printmaking process to achieve deep tones and precise detail. I draw at home, obsessively editing until the image feels right, before transferring it onto zinc plates through photo etching. Once etched, I experiment with aquatint: creating textures, patterns, and tone — bringing each image to life in a new way.
Though the settings are often rooted in everyday domestic spaces, something is always slightly off. I want viewers to lean in, search through the gloom and notice familiar objects transformed into something quietly chaotic. I aim to shock, delight and unnerve my audience.
Printmaking has changed how I create — not just technically, but personally. While drawing is introspective, printing connects me to a wider studio community. It is this balance between solitude and shared craft that keeps me inspired.
